Job Opening: Veterinary Teaching-Clinician Specialist in Medicine and Surgery of Exotic Pets (M/F) - Permanent Contract (CDI)
To support the launch of the Veterinary School Hospital (CHEV) for Companion Animals and strengthen the Veterinary Faculty, we are looking for a Veterinary Teaching-Clinician Specialist in Medicine and Surgery of Exotic Pets (M/F) under a permanent contract (CDI) for our Mont-Saint-Aignan (76) campus.
Start date: As soon as possible.
YourResponsibilities
1. Clinical Consultations
- Manage first-opinion and referred clinical cases in exotic pet medicine and surgery.
- Use evidence-based medicine and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at the CHEV, supporting generalists and specialists in emergency cases and complex referrals.
- Maintain close communication with referring veterinarians, providing detailed updates on case management, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations.
2. Teaching and Student Supervision
- Supervise veterinary students during their clinical rotations in exotic pet medicine and surgery.
- Guide students in diagnosing and treating patients, explaining procedures, and developing their practical and decision-making skills.
- Organize hands-on clinical demonstrations and case discussions to foster active learning.
- Provide continuous assessment and constructive feedback to students, helping them develop professional autonomy.
3. Patient Care and Hospital Management
- Oversee patient management from admission to discharge, ensuring smooth coordination with technical and administrative teams.
- Contribute to efficient clinical workflow management within the hospital.
- Assist in developing and improving treatment protocols for exotic pets.
4. Professional Development
- Participate in continuing education to stay updated on the latest advances in veterinary medicine.
- Promote evidence-based veterinary medicine through clinical discussions and knowledge exchange.
5. Quality Assurance and Hospital Development
- Help implement, review, and optimize clinical protocols and high-quality care standards.
- Monitor clinical outcomes to continuously improve treatment protocols and patient management.
Your Profile
- Hold a Veterinary Degree and a license to practice in France.
- Have a Postgraduate Certificate in Exotic Pet Medicine and Surgery or, ideally, an ECZM Diploma (European College of Zoological Medicine).
- Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in a hospital or referral center.
- Strong teaching and supervision skills for mentoring students.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities, both with veterinary teams and pet owners.
